Athanasia Tychala is Informatics Technology Engineer and Accredited ‘Data Protection Officer (DPO) Executive’ by Austria Hellas, according to international standards ISO/IEC 17024.
She graduated from the Department of Informatics, Athens University of Economics and Business, and continued her postgraduate studies in ‘Master of Science in Law and Informatics’ of University of Macedonia Thessaloniki.
She has been working for decades as a computer consultant in IT companies, having as a primary goal the computerisation of great commercial enterprises and industries as well as the safety and protection of their data.
Since 2018 she has been Data Protection Officer in public and private industries and has undertaken the study of compliance with the Regulation 679/2016 (GDPR).
She has also been a lecturer in educational programs and seminars regarding the new Regulation of the Protection of personal data( GDPR) the safety of the data and the role of Data Protection Officer.
Her inquiry interests focus mainly on the protection of data, personal data protection law in the digital age, on the technological developments regarding the introduction of artificial intelligence and Internet of Things in the daily routine of individuals and corporations.
